Summer Carnival Blog Hop Reveal!

UPDATE: Cory Tompkins is the winner of the Summer Carnival Blog hop giveaway. Congratulations, Cory!

This is going to be a fun hop!  Let's all go to the summer carnival!

The talented participants were sent a variety of beads and plated metal goodies. They were asked to create jewelry or other art using as many beads from the kit as possible.  The beautiful cultured seaglass, Tiaria crystal, and most of the plated metal for this hop are from ZnetShows.  Check out their  selections: ZnetShows Cultured Seaglass, ZnetShows Tiaria Crystal  and ZnetShows Plated Metal

To get you in the carnival mood, I though I would include my "Carnival Swing" Earrings that were published in Bead Trends Magazine in 2013.  They were inspired by the swing ride that goes around in a circle and slowly lifts higher off of the ground.

It just would not be a blog hop without a giveaway, right?  Leave a comment (by midnight EST August 9th) on this post and let me know what your favorite carnival ride or attraction is and why it's your favorite. I will draw a name on August 10th.  The winner will receive a bead package from me full of special goodies!

  2. When I was younger I used to love the carnival rides -- the faster and the higher the better as far as I was concerned! While I'm a little less enthusiastic these days, I still love a good rollercoaster and you really can't beat the sedate pace of the ferris wheel! Thanks for another fun challenge!

  3. I can't wait to see what everyone created. I had a couple of projects still in the works, but got quite a bit completed as well.

  4. Lisa, thank you for another wonderful blog hop! I love the theme! Who doesn't love a Merry Go Round! They are relaxing. The music puts you in the mood. The movement relaxes you. If you are really lucky you can enjoy some great artisan carving or painting on the horses. It is a great ride for all ages too.

  5. The 'Cup & Saucer', or 'Teacups' were always my favorite ride, simply because it was pretty much the only one my mom would ride, too. Like me, she's not a fan of heights, so we'd always be sure to ride that one ride if we could. Nothing like sliding back and forth on that little bench, giggling like crazy every time you either squished or got squished by the person beside you sliding lol

  6. My husband has always been a roller coaster man, and gradually he got me from the kiddie versions to he real ones. I've even gone upside down, but still, the big wooden ones are my favorite. Can wait to see what everyone has done with this theme!

  7. Once again thanks for the challenge of the hop. I am not a fan of carnival ride but at our big summer fair I love the International exhibits and the arts and crafts displays and booths.

  8. I always loved the ferris wheel because it would go so high up and the night breeze felt so good up there. I also love the rockin roller coaster, the one that would go round and round and play loud music!!

  9. I like anything that spins me around very fast --tilt-a-whirl, for instance :-)

  10. I used to love the Spider but as I have gotten older, I prefer to keep my feet on the ground.

  13. Hi Lisa! I'm hopping around to all of your Participants...and have to say you gave them absolutely awesome colors to work with for this Hop! I can hear that wonderful summertime carnival carousel music when I look at each piece created. Fabulous idea!

  14. My favorite ride is the "Scrambler". I always get the "hysterical giggles" and still giggle after the ride stops. My son used to beg to ride it with me because my giggling made him giggle. Now I am off to hop and check out all the blogs...

  15. I love your Carnival Swing earrings - beautiful! Thank you for hosting this hop. Your hops are always fun and challenging. I love to see what other people get and what they make from it! My favorite ride is the ferris wheel. I don't like anything that goes too fast, and it's fun to see what things look like from up that high. Plus, the image is so iconic - the London Eye, the 1939 World's Fair.

  16. I like the Log ride - fast and you get wet. Perfect for a summer afternoon at the amusement park.

  18. Thanks so much for hosting this hop Lisa! It was a lot of fun participating! I love your earrings and they do look like that swing ride. My favorite attraction at the carnival is the games. I love that one where you shoot water at the target and you race the other contestants to see who wins.

  19. I love those earrings Lisa, they are so fun! Thanks for hosting the hop, as always I had a great time participating. My favorite ride at a carnival was the zipper, or at an amusement park it would be the roller coasters. Can't get enough of them :-)

  21. Thanks Lisa for hosting this fun blog hop! It was fun to relive memories. My favorite ride was always the tea cups & I still love them to this day. But there are so many fun rides; the big slide, the ferris wheel, the merry go round, the swings, the spider, the barrel of fun, the roller coaster rides, the bumper cars... Then eating cotton candy was always a treat too.

Love your earrings! They do remind me of the swings! :)
