Creative Spark Magazine Premiere Issue - I'm a Featured Designer!

If you are looking for the signup for the Winter Sparkle Blog Hop, click here: Winter Sparkle

I am tickled pink to announce that I am one of the featured jewelry artists in the brand spanking new magazine: Creative Spark!

A selection of ZnetShows Design Team members were given the opportunity to create jewelry for the premiere issue of this fabulous new endeavor.  Hope Smitherman did a wonderful job of putting together the magazine. We were asked to pick out some items that fell into the category of "rings" and "bling". I thought I would share a few teaser photos of my creations.

I wanted to create a matching collection that brought to mind "old Hollywood" such as the jewelry worn by Audrey Hepburn and Rita Hayworth.  I am pleased with how the jewelry turned out.

Please click on the link and check out all of the beautiful creations made by the designers!  Creative Spark

Wonky Bead Challenge Reveal!

First of all - a big thank you to Kristi Bowman for hosting this cool challenge! Kristi's wonky beads are really cool.  They posed quite a challenge for me, because I typically do not design with large beads in this style.

I started out with the intention to make a "chunky bead" necklace.  However, the beads did not "want" to be a necklace (if you know what I mean).  I remembered that I had a nifty leaf toggle clasp that I had been wanting to use for some time.  Autumn is on its way, so what better time to bring out the leaf!  I was looking for some larger size gemstone beads to use with Kristi's clay beads, and came across some goldstone in my bead stash. The gold accents in Kristi's beads paired perfectly with the gold shimmer in the faceted goldstone beads.  I added some glass blue pearls from ZnetShows, ivory Czech glass bells, and little copper corrugated beads for spacers. A tiny copper leaf charm and a small copper bead charm completed the look.

I had a lot of fun creating this piece.  Please have a look at the awesome designs created by the rest of the participants by clicking on this link to go to Kristi's blog: Kristi Bowman Design (Blog)

Autumn Design Challenge Bead Reveal

I was excited to be one of the lucky ladies chosen to participate in the Autumn Design Challenge hosted by Caroline of Blueberri Beads and Lesley of THEA Elements. Thank you Lesley and Caroline for your generosity in hosting this challenge! These are the awesome beads that I received:

The bronze focals are from Lesley and the pretty ceramic beads are from Caroline. I love designing with hearts and bird/animal beads, and look what I got - a nifty purple bird bead and brown heart bead, and a gorgeous heart and leaf pendant. Excellent!  Hope that I can do these pretty beads justice!

Make sure to stop by on October 2nd, 2013 to see the big reveal!
