October Fest Reveal!

I Love Autumn - it is my favorite season.  So, when the lovely Rita of Toltec Jewels decided to hold a second annual October Fest, I had to get on board.  I wanted to show some pretty Autumn photos that I had taken, but my photos are not the best quality.  So - I picked out some free online photos that best describe how Autumn "feels" to me.

The last photo was my inspiration for my jewelry.  The picture most closely resembles Autumn in Michigan (my neck of the woods).   I made a necklace, bracelet and earrings set using the blue color of an Autumn sky on a sunny day, and the gold color of vibrant leaves.

This photo was my jewelry inspiration:

Echo Creative Club October Reveal!

I am so excited to be participating in the Echo Creative Club for 2013!

A big thank you to Jeannie Dukic for this opportunity. She sent me the most lovely selection of beads to work with. The bead that I am using for my October entry is this lovely green gin blossom:

I really had fun creating this necklace! It pairs Jeannie's beautiful gin blossom with off white glass pearls, heart shaped unakite, mossy green Czech glass and brass components.  The brass component just under the gin blossom is a bendable filigree piece that I folded in half.  I threaded a headpin through the top and created a simple loop to attach the piece to the gin blossom like a pendant.

I wish my picture taking ability was better where necklaces are concerned.  I just can't seem to get them to look as good in the photo as in person.

I can't wait to see what lovely creations the other participants have made! Please take a look, and also stop by Jeannie's store Jewelry by Jeannie and check out her awesome selection of beads and jewelry.

Autumn Design Challenge Reveal

Reveal Day is Here!

I was excited to be one of the lucky ladies chosen to participate in the Autumn Design Challenge hosted by Caroline of Blueberri Beads and Lesley of THEA Elements. Thank you Lesley and Caroline for your generosity in hosting this challenge! These are the awesome beads that I received:
The bronze focals are from Lesley and the pretty ceramic beads are from Caroline.

So far I have used all the beads except Lesley's beautiful heart.  (Still working on a design)!

I created the asymmetrical necklace below using Caroline's pretty purple bird and caramel toned beads. I added tiger eye nuggets, purple fossil beads, and green adventurine rounds.Lesley's lovely leaf served as a great Autumn focal pendant.

I love the earthiness of this necklace

A simple, classic pair of matching earrings

I wanted to use Caroline's heart charm in a bracelet, and pondered a long time on what colors to pair it with.  I have always liked the look of blue with brown, so I used started with some pretty sky blue large lucite ovals.  I then added crystal, Czech glass, brass bead caps and tiger eye pillows.  I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.  Think I may keep this one for me!

My new "go to" bracelet

I can't wait to see what all the participants have created! Here is the link list:
