Gluten Free Apple Cake - Just Right for Autumn!

Gluten Free Girl has a great recipe for Gluten Free Apple Cake on the Food dot com website.  Here is the link: http://www.food.com/recipe/gluten-free-apple-cake-174346.  It is pretty easy to make, tastes very good.  Most people won't know this is gluten free.  I need dairy free as well, so I substitute the egg and milk with an equivalent amount of egg replacer.

  1. Have you ever tried subbing flax for egg? I do it for my bread baking, and can't tell any difference. Have to try this recipe, thanks for sharing.

  2. I haven't tried that, Shirley. I do use an egg replacer that is made with potato starch and tapioca starch.

  3. My 10 year old grandson was just diagnosed with celiac disease. I tried that apple cake recipe, it is very good! Since my daughter doesn't bake, I have had to take my own baking to a new level trying out various gluten free recipes and flour mixes. I also sub flax seed for egg sometimes, and I can't tell a difference either!

  4. I have found The almond cookbook to be great! I usually sub oil for egg if needed and use almond flour. Tapioca is not so good for me and sugar I stay away from as well. Good luck with the cakes.
